The response of residents coming out to view the open gardens and courtyards was tremendous, and gratifying to all the participants who had prepared for this day for months. In spite of the odd spring weather, the gardens and courtyards had a beautiful variety of flowers.
But the nice by-product of this event is really of a social nature. Meeting your neighbors and chat about flowers, different plant material, where you came from and life at LBS, this wonderful place we are fortunate enough to call home. We found people to be extremely appreciative of the effort set forth by all the work done by residents showcasing their special areas. There was a good selection of different exhibits. Amazing large gardens, quaint small gardening areas, beautiful courtyards and lovely entryways. Refreshments were served at many of the locations.
