Pump room and 30ft pneumatic tank keeps the entire neighborhood water supply pressurized |
LBS2 Caption LBS has an average daily water flow of approximately 400,000 gallons. Fresh water is provided by two shallow wells. The water passes through an iron removal system, is aerated, fluoridated, and chlorinated, and fed into a 600,000 gallon underground reservoir. Water pressure is maintained by means of a hydro-pneumatic tank and four pumps, one being dedicated to the fire hydrant system. The potable water supplied is analyzed on a regular basis and meets Illinois Environmental Protection Agency standards. |

Waste waster is treated before leaving the community, at the Waste Water Treatment Plant, on the west side of River road, just north of Kelsey road, where it is pumped to by means of an underground sewer pipe. The waste water is treated through physical, chemical, and bacteriological processes, under Illinois Environmental Protection Agency regulations. After solids are extracted, the water empties into the Fox River, cleaner than the river itself. The sludge generated by the solids is plowed into the earth, enriching the soil. |
