The commission operates under charter from the Lake Barrington Shores Community Homeowners Association Master Board and is advisory to the Master Board and the individual Condominium Boards of Directors.  The Commission’s stated purpose is to develop, install and administer programs which will maintain the Public Works integrity of Lake Barrington Shores.

LBS owns its roads, fresh water system and wastewater treatment plant.  As well, maintenance of the Common Elements and community buildings is an LBCHA responsibility.  The Commission is responsible for developing budgets and policy regarding those matters, for Master Board consideration and approval.

Each Condominium Association may select up to two representatives to sit on the Commission. Where matters before the Commission require a vote, each Association is entitled to one vote.  Regular meetings are held the last Wednesday of each month.  Meetings are open to all Lake Barrington Shores homeowners.
