The roads, fresh water, sewage, basic cable, garbage pickup, the Rec Center, marina, boats, walking path, forest preserve, Public Safety and snow removal are all included in your monthly assessment.

 

The following tips and information will hopefully add to the ease of life here at Lake Barrington Shores!

 

 

Repairs, Replacements or Additions

Call the Lake Barrington Shores Management Office @ 382-1660 and you will be informed as to proper procedure to follow.

 

 

Garbage Day

Regular pick up is on Wednesday unless it is a Holiday, then it is pushed to Thursday.  Check channel 4.  Trash is to be put out after 6:00 a.m. on the day of pick up.  Please do not leave trash out the night before, as “critters” love it!  For a special pick up, please call Waste Management @ 1-800-964-8988 to schedule.

 

Basic Cable Television

Basic cable is part of your monthly assessment.  If you wish to have digital TV or premium channels contact Comcast at

866-594-1234.

 

Gutter Cleaning

          Call the Lake Barrington Shores Management Office at

847-382-1660.

 

Light Bulbs for the Outside

Bulbs are available at the Lake Barrington Shores Management Office for the lights on the front of your condo and on your garage.

 

 

 

Insurance

          The building and liability insurance outside the unit is covered by the   

          Condo Homeowners Association.  This insurance policy does not insure   

Home owner’s contents or sewer backups.  Make sure your Homeowners Insurance includes a HO-6 coverage.

 

Winter Issues

          Compresses or artificial logs are not to be burned in fireplaces.  They

          burn too hot and may create a fire hazard.  If you leave for the

winter, please set your thermostat no lower than 60 degrees.  If you have an outside faucet, please shut it off and drain it.

 

Outside Holiday decorations are allowed from December 1st through January 31st.  When you are decorating, please stay off the roof of the condo.

 

Recreation Center

The Recreation Center is open from 6:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6:00a.m. to 10:00p.m. on Fridays, 7:00a.m. to 10:00p.m. on Saturdays and 7:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. on Sundays.  Holiday hours may be found on Channel 4.  Swimming, hot tub, sauna, ping pong, billiard table and fitness equipment are available.

 

Bring your own lock if you wish to use the lockers in the changing rooms, as they are not equipped with them.

 

If you wish to use a treadmill, it is suggested that you call the Rec Center and reserve one, up to 24 hours before you need it in order to make sure that one will be available.

 

A library is located in the lower level of the Rec Center and the hours for use are the same as the Rec Center.

 

 

Marina

The marina is available Memorial Day through Labor Day for rowboats, sailboats and paddleboats.  The marina hours are 12:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. seven days a week.

 

The pontoon boat may be rented for $15.00 per hour for private use by residents; however, this boat is free to Lake Barrington Shores residents on the weekends from 12:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. on a first come first serve basis. Unless it is being used by the Sailing Association.  During the week, the pontoon boat is on a rental basis only.  You can reserve the pontoon boat by coming to the management office and dropping off a CHECK.  Reservations CAN NOT be made over the telephone.

 

Rowboats may be checked out at the Main Public Safety gate from dawn until dusk, from April to October.  Only electric motors may be used.  No gas-operated motors are allowed. 

 

Only those certified by the Lake Barrington Shores Sailing Association may use the sailboats.  Contact the Lake Barrington Shores management office for the name of the person to contact for certification.

 

Public Safety

Lake Barrington Shores gives each resident a photo ID which allows you access to the pools, boats, fitness room and the restaurant.

 

A Green Book Form may be filled out with information noting immediate family members that you would like to have access to Lake Barrington Shores at anytime.

 

A Blue Book Form may be filled out for regular service persons, such as cleaning companies, bottled water deliveries etc.

 

If you are expecting other persons not on either form, please call the Main Gate @ 847-381-6515.

 

Cars are registered at Lake Barrington Shores.  A transponder will be attached to the inside of your windshield for access through the automatic gates.  The automatic gates operate from 5:30a.m. to 11:00p.m.  At all other times, the Main Gate must be used.  Call the Lake Barrington Shores management office at @ 847-382-1660 to make an appointment to have a transponder installed.  Without a transponder, you may only enter Lake Barrington Shores via the Main Gate.

 

Please drive carefully!  Many residents walk the roads.  The speed limit is 20mph and is strictly enforced!

 

For additional security, please keep garage doors closed.

 

Pets

Pets are to be registered in the Lake Barrington Shores Management Office. Pets and residents walk the in the same areas, so please be respectful of you neighbors and clean up after your pets!  There is a fine for not picking up after your pet!  Dogs and cats are to be kept on a leash at all times.

 

Golf Course and Club

The golf course and the club are NOT included in the monthly assessments; however, a reduced golf membership is available to residents.  For more information please call the Pro Shop @

The restaurant is available to Lake Barrington Shores residents.  For reservations call 847-382-4240.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Outgoing Mail

Mail may be placed in the blue mailboxes located near the exits for the Main Gate, the Oak Hill Gate, and outside the Kelsey Road Gate.  Fed Ex, UPS, and Airborne boxes are located near the White Hen store in the Market Place Shopping Plaza, which is outside of the Kelsey Road Gate.

 

Neighborhood

Lake Barrington Shores is near Barrington, Lake Zurich, Fox River Grove, and Wauconda.  Shopping, restaurants, post offices and houses of worship are available in the above towns.

 

The nearest emergency room is at Good Shepherd Hospital, located on Route 22 between Route 59(Barrington Road) and Kelsey Road.

 

The nearest pharmacy is Walgreens at Miller Road and Route 12 (Rand Road).  The nearest 24-hour pharmacy is Walgreens at Route 12 and Cuba Road.

 

The Barrington Area Library is located at 505 N. Northwest Highway (Route 14), 847-382-1300.  A drop box is located near the White Hen.

 

 

LBS Activities:

               

          Newcomers/Alumni

The newcomer/Alumni group meets on the second Monday of each month in the Upper Level Lounge of the Rec Center @ 10:30a.m.  It is open to all residents,  See Channel 4 for more information and updates.  This is a social group.

 

 

          Bridge

The LBS Bridge Club meets every Thursday @ 7:15p.m. at the Rec Center.

 

 

      4th Wednesday Bridge   

LBS Women’s Party Bridge meets @ 9:45a.m in the Rec Center.  This group starts in September.

 

          Good Shepherd Hospital Bridge Marathon

This group takes place in participants’ homes from September through April.

        Golf Leagues

Golf leagues are arranged through the Pro Shop @

847-382-6650.

 

The leagues are:

                   18 Hole Women’s  - Sundowners

                   18 Hole Men        - Solos

                   18 Hole Couples   - Shoresmen

                    9 Hole Women   - Midwest League

 

      Sailing Association      

The Sailing Association hold races here on our lake!  They also host sailing related social activities!  There are twenty Sunfish sailboats available for certified sailors!

 

          Conservators 

The Conservators maintain and restore designated, damaged, or degraded ecosystems within Lake Barrington Shores.  Volunteers work from April to October.  They meet @ 1:30p.m. on the first and third Saturdays and @ 1:30p.m. on Tuesdays.  LBS has 35 acres of forest preserve and a lake buffer strip, which contain Illinois native plants and trees.

 

         

 

 

 

Fishing

Fishing is allowed in our 90-acre lake, which is stocked with panfish, bass, Northern Pike and catfish.  Live bait other than worms are not to be used!!!  A current fishing license is required!  Panfish are “keepers” but others are “ catch and release”. 

 

     Platform Tennis

Platform tennis is available from October to April.  There are 3 heated and lit courts.  Please call the Rec Center to make a reservation, @ 847-382-1660.

 

          Bowling

Bowling begins in October and ends in April.  Members meet every other Sunday at 3-D Lanes in Island Lake.  Watch Channel 4 for details!  All are welcome, no matter the level of skill!!

 

          Tennis

There are 10 courts available for play.  There are also ball machines available and lessons taught by a pro!  To find out information on this contact the Tennis Association through the Rec Center @847-382-1660.

 

          Shorecroppers

The Shorecroppers plant veggies, flowers, herbs and much more in a plowed garden plot 1-mile from LBS!  Watch channel 4 for updates!

 

Shorestichers

Shorestichers is a group that is interested in all types of needlework!  All levels of skill and interest are welcome!  Meetings are the second and fourth Tuesday of each month @ 1:00p.m. in the Upper Level Lounge of the Rec Center.

 

     Garden Club

The garden club is composed of volunteers who work with the landscape coordinator to beautify LBS, especially at the entrance gates.

          Photography Club 

The photography club is comprised of all persons interested in photography.  The group meets on the second Thursday of the month.

 

 

Various parties and activities are set on a monthly basis by the Social and Sports Director.  Please tune into Channel 97 and read “ Shorelines”, our monthly newsletter, to stay connected!!!
