What to do with old electronics? Good news for LBS residents! The Village of Wauconda Public Works facility on Sloane Street will accept a variety of electronic

Veteran’s Memorial Brick Project:

Memorial bricks for the Veteran’s Memorial Garden are now available. Order forms and instructions may be picked up at the Management Office at the Rec Center.

LBS Florida Luncheon: Due to a huge price increase, the luncheon will be at Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Bonita Springs on Monday, February 13^th. Questions? Call Char at 847-382-5290.

February is Heart Health Month at LBS. Community Affairs Commission

Is sponsoring a Free Presentation on Thursday, February 16^th at 7:00 P.M.

Guest Speaker will be Kellie Hartman, who is a clinical Nurse Liaison of

Waconda Health Care & Rehabilitation. The Wauconda Fire Dept. will also be on hand to provide free blood pressure screenings from 6-7 P.M.

Save The Date!! Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, Saturday, March 31^st in the Rec Center Ballroom. Reservations begin on Thursday, March 1^st in the LBS Office. Sign up quickly as this event always sells out!!!

Recycling: Community Affairs will continue to sponsor recycling days in 2012. The next recycling date is Saturday, April 14, 2012.

LBS Club Fair-2012: Saturday, April 21^st from 2:00P.M. to 5:00 P.M. The chartered clubs and organizations that make their home at LBS will be featured at our first ever Club Fair! Members will be on hand to answer your questions regarding their respective organizations and clubs. We will have activities, refreshments, and raffle prizes. Sponsored by the Social & Sports Commission.

Shorecroppers: Come meet the Shorecroppers. Learn about the “Gentleperson’s” way of farming. We have available 20’ x 30’ garden plots, which you can farm individually, or as many do, share a plot. Control Arthritis pain with gentle exercises. Approved by the Arthritis Foundation. We meet twice per week-Tuesday and Friday, 10:45 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. in the Ballroom at the Rec Center. We meet once a month following the Friday Arthritis Class at noon in the ULL, a speaker will offer a free program on varying topics of wellness. Bring your own lunch and enjoy an hour of timely topics of getting and staying well. Beverages will be provided.

LBS Fitness Orientation: Space is limited for each session. Reserve your spot in the Management Office of the Rec Center. Preregistration is required. Next session is with Rob on Saturday, February 11 at 9:00 A.M. This orientation is free. Call Jamie/LBS Office to register.

Sailing Club: On Sunday, April 15^th at 3:00 P.M. the sailors will host a Welcome Aboard Party in the ULL. The Commodore and Members will be describing our plans for the summer’s races, cookouts and pontoon rides. A buffet dinner will be provided. Member dues will be collected and the schedule for 2012 will be published at this meeting.

Golfing Solos Club: The 2012 season starts on Friday, April 27^th, with golf, cocktails, appetizers and a tasty dinner by chef Mark.
