Recreation Center

The center is the hub of recreational activity.  It is several thousand square feet under roof.  The lower level contains an exercise room, an indoor pool, an indoor hot tub, a pool table room and library, a ping pong table room, changing rooms with saunas, lockers, showers and  several meeting rooms.  The upper floor contains a large meeting lounge with fireplace, a sundeck,  and a banquet hall with a dance floor and kitchen facilities.  Adjacent to the building is the outdoor pool, Kiddie Pool and sundeck.   Across the street are 10 tennis courts, 2 paddleball (platform tennis) courts and a Bocce count.  Next to the tennis courts is basketball court.  The volleyball area is located between the recreation center and the marina.

Marina on Lake Barrington

A short walk from the rec center, the marina is located on Lake Barrington. It contains canoes, rowboats, sailboats, paddleboats and a pontoon boat.  Just behind the marina sits the swimming beach, picnic tables and charcoal grills.
Residents can use the boats free of charge.  Sailboaters must be checked out on basic sailing skills. Residents can take free rides on the pontoon boat.  Residents can rent the pontoon boat for private use at other times.  The summer 2010 charge is $20 per hour with a 2 hour maximum.
