The Forest Preserve: Hours: Open 24 hours Everyday Hiking in the forest preserve is beautiful year round. The main path is paved and several others are not. The 33 acre preserve adjoins the northeast corner of the lake. Turtles, squirrels, raccoons, ducks, geese, swans and other birds make their home here. The Conservators club tend the flora, cuss at any buckthorn and in 2000, won the National Backyard Wildlife Habitat Award.
