Welcome to beautiful Lake Barrington Shores, a residential haven widely-known for its beautiful landscaping, serene environment, and guarded security. The Recreation Center is the focal point out of which a great variety of activities occur. Besides serving as the main office where business is transacted, this hub contains a beautifully adorned Upper Level Lounge with fireplace and a large Banquet Room with dance floor and kitchen facilities.
The Lower Level offers a Lounge widely used for various meeting and activities, conference room, library, ping-pong room, exercise room, as well as a sauna and showers which abut an indoor swimming pool and hot tub. A spacious outdoor patio overlooks both the outdoor swimming pool and one smaller one, built especially for young children.
The indoor pool with its rustic decor is extensively used -- for water aerobics, lap swimming, an invigorating soak in the hot tub, or just plain water fun. Its wooden beams, tropical plants, and windowed views provide an enchanting year-round haven. Through the glass patio doors is a second outside pool for summer use. Sunning, deck chairs and umbrella tables surround the outdoor pool for rest and relaxation.
Sauna

On the coldest of days, with winter's majestic views just outside the floor to ceiling windows, the whirlpool experience is truly an exhilarating one. That continues as the scenery changes from one season to the next. And all the while, one can enjoy the it while being soothed by the pulsating jets of the ten person hot tub.
This large, beautiful room is available for weddings, luncheons, LBS parties, family reunions, birthday parties, etc. The tasteful appointments lend an air of elegance. Coupled with the kitchen facilities and dance floor, this space offers unlimited possibilities. The entire right side of the room opens onto a balcony overlooking the outdoor pool.
Keeping in shape is an easy goal with
visits to the fully equipped exercise room, available each day of the
week, all day long. State of the art treadmills, bicycles, weights, etc.
allow residents to tone up, take off, or just feel fit. Treadmills
can get busy and can be reserved 24 hours in advance.
A library, stocked with books by and for residents, offers great choices on a help yourself basis. In the center of the room is a billiard table for those who enjoy pitting their skills in this area. The room can serve as an additional meeting/conference area.
